Beta-Carotene
Beta-carotene is part of the group of carotenoids, which are found in plant products. It is the precursor to vitamin A, but only 15% of the absorbed beta-carotene is converted into vitamin A. Researchers have published new results showing that beta-carotene is an important antioxidant. It strengthens the skin’s natural protection against UV rays, but does not protect against sunburn.
